Reports to: Executive Chef / Manager On Duty
Purpose of Position
Preparing and cooking a variety of high-quality Kapow food for our restaurant guests to enjoy. Contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.
Job Responsibilities
Cook
- Inspect and clean food preperation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces ro serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Season and cook food according to recipes.
- Maintain temperature logs; keep walk-in cooler/freezer organized Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism. Able to complete Food Handler’s certification.
- Effective communication skills. Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to work standing for 8+ hours.
Dishwasher
- Wash pots, pans, and all other dishware.
- Segregate and remove trash and place in designated container
- Sweep and mop floors; wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and all other surface areas.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas; restock tools and supplies for the next shift.
- Help line cooks properly prep, store, and date food when needed. Effective communication skills.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to work standing for 8+ hours.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand up for up to 90% of shift; walk; sit; use hands; use objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level may include that of a typical restaurant environment. The temperature may include that of a typical kitchen.
